Business travellers and frequent flyers alike face similar problem during long flights. On more than one occasion people need to be at a particular place without having the time to freshen up after their flight. These times can make one look tired and sleep deprived. But you can’t go to a business meeting looking like that, can you?
A little planning and can prevent you from looking like a mess; and with these tips will you will be ready to be on the go.
1. Pick your Clothes Carefully for the flight
It’s only common sense to wear comfortable clothing while travelling but unfortunately, you can’t travel in your yoga pants especially when you’re flying business class. Wear microfiber or wrinkle-free shirts to look stylish and feel comfortable at the same time. They are stretchy, obviously don’t fall prey to wrinkle and don’t cling to your body.
For more formal options women could try wrap dresses and button-downs with dark collars look great on men.
Men should avoid wearing linens at all costs.
Airplane cabins have really dry air that sucks the moisture out of your skin and dry skin can make your skin look really unhealthy. If you are in a long flight make sure you moisturize a couple of times. Carry hand cream, face moisturizer, and lip balm in your carry-on baggage. Since you are allowed only a certain amount of liquids carry miniatures of the same and place them in your small airplane pouch which can fit in your handbags, carry-on bags and can be easily accessible when you need them.
It’s always great to be hydrated but if you’re well hydrated before and on your flight your skin will be really thankful. Replenish all the moisture that has been sucked out by airplane air by drinking ample amount of water. Drinking enough water will also help you with jet-lag and a couple of rounds to the washroom will help in blood circulation in your body while you are flushing out the toxins.
4. Skip the Salts
Excessive salt in the body can lead to bloating and mindless snacking is the biggest reason behind the inappropriate salt intake. Those peanuts or cashew nuts you brought on the flight have that excess salt, the hamburger you picked at the airport is adding the salt content in your body, the alcohol you consume during the flight only makes it worse. For healthy looking skin and fresh feeling after your flight skip the alcohol, don’t indulge in mindless snacking and try and intake foods with low salt content.
If you wish to look fresh after a long flight, make sure your muscles are not sore sitting in one place and there is ample amount of blood circulation. Just because you’re on a flight doesn’t mean you have to skip washing your face before you go to sleep –go ahead and do that. A little walk to the washroom will make you stretch your legs and will also help in blood circulation. Drink ample amount of water so walk towards the washroom more.
6. Get Enough Sleep
Long flight means you can cheat on your sleep schedule. Catch up on those extra hours of sleep when on flights. Noise-cancellation headphones are amazing companions when you want to sleep at different hours from everybody else on the flight, as are eye masks. Wear those thick socks to feel warm and cozy on the flight, put on some relaxing music and take a nap.
